Coach Certification Course Date Set
DZO & Instructor Jen Sharp is now a Coach Certification Course Director and will plan a course to be held October 4 & 5, with overflow for jumps not concluded on the 12th & 13th. If you are interested, please email Jen with your name, number of jumps, etc. In order to qualify for your coach rating, you must complete the proficiency card and hold a C license. You must have a SIM dated 2001 or later, and have the 2003 IRM which you can purchase from USPA. You must have the proficiency card completely filled out BEFORE the course in order to attend. If you don't have a card yet, get it here.

10 Candidates get their rating
DZO Jim Sharp acted as an evaluator for the course, which mean he had to "pretend" he was a student to test the skills of the candidates. Here, he decides to liven up the already lively process by dressing in pink complete with Protec, Banana, shoes on the wrong feet and chest strap routed through the reserve handle. Rick handled it just fine. Jim had a tendency to forget his count on exit and tumble alot. Evaluator Jen Sharp had a tendency to fall off the plane and potato chip... of course only once did any "student" actually pull on time!

The Ten Candidates all passed within 3 jumps.  4 jumps are allowed to attain the necessary satisfactory scores in each category.  Congratulations to new USPA coaches Rick Gardner, Nick Bennett, Turk Chapman, Shahar Dahan, Charlie Dyck, Bill Hubbell, Bob Lowe, Jason Norris, Steve Schonfeldt, and Adam Marsh.

Despite beautiful PERFECT fall weather on Saturday, the candidates and evaluators had to stay indoors and finish classroom work.  Tommy Dolphin from Missouri River Valley Skydivers assisted in the course as a presenter and ground evaluator.  Lobo, who had described himself as an old man, was awarded a wheelchair for the full day ground session.

Strict rules are set out by USPA as to what events must occur for a candidate to prove his skill and decision making abilities. Here, a group listens as the boundaries are explained. Jason, you look a little worried... maybe you should have paid more attention to the part about not letting the student fondle the prop?
