USPA just issued new wing loading recommendations. You can compare these to our current policy. Although they leave out the important issue of currency, this statement goes a long way towards establishing safer industry standards. Below are their guidelines:
The following recommended maximum canopy wing loadings based on
license levels will be added to the SIM. To exceed these guidelines,
it is recommended that the jumper complete formal canopy training
and consult with an S&TA.
A license—1.0 psf maximum
B license—1.0 psf maximum
C license—1.2 psf maximum
D license—1.4 psf maximum
Also, in response to the bad mark on the sport created by
1-800-SKYRIDE and its affiliates, USPA has put up a consumer alert
on their website:

In addition the Board has taken action against the booking agency scam in the form of revoking the group memberships of their three associated dropzones, their rigging loft, and the two directors' individual memberships. They are also looking at Group Membership ethics code, requiring GMs to specifically state their policies.
