Juan Carlos Santa Maria Juavez the Second RETURNS!

Saturday, April 22, the landowner two fields south of the School house came walking in around the corner.. Chris Crowder who was on the fateful jump last October immediately started balling and ran to hug Juan Carlos Santa Maria Juavez the Second! He has returned to us!

Juan was on a jump to test a Cypres October 8, 2005, but because his fall rate was less than the 78 mph need to fire the AAD, his body hit the hard ground with no parachute activated. Numerous search & rescue attempts were to no avail.

Farmer Bill Lieber said he found him in the beans, so we had been looking in the wrong place! He found him in February and apologized for not returning him sooner! We of course said, "NO NO! We're so grateful he's back!" Turk Chapman was thrilled also to have his spaceballs back.

Juan Carlos lost his Kroops goggles, but was unscathed... the parachute however, has been chewed up quite a bit, probably by mice, but probably salvageable. The cypres wires were chewed completely through--not useable now. Juan says he's up to try the jump again, but the repairs will have to wait for bad weather.
