January Hit & Chug
Unseasonable warmth and a pleasant temperature inversion
created FANTASTIC skydiving weather January 10 & 11th. For
those of you watching the Chiefs lose, you missed out on 47 degree
weather at 10,000 feet, some tandems, Jen's chili recipe stolen from
Rick, Mike Earley's buns (I mean the kind you eat), a serenade of
"99 bottles of beer on the wall" to Grant all the way to altitude
(really loud), and the Hit-n-Chug where everyone won first place:
1st place for
accuracy: both feet dead
center
1st place for
style: Rick Gardner on his typical "combine"
landing (Rick you're supposed to save the barrell rolls for
freefall)
1st place for
effort: Chris Townsend who had to run about 50
feet to his well-shaken beverage (thanks John) and fought down burps as
he chugged for several minutes
1st place for
tradition: Turk Chapman who dragged a toe
across the target AND chugged within 60 seconds
