LEAP FOR LUPUS !
August 18 & 19 we helped Leap For Lupus foundation [
www.leapforlupus.org] raise around $300 that will combine with funds from other dzs. Originally, Art Sherry from the
Skydive Store let us know about this cause. Now, we're working with Valinda Mitchell, founder of Leap for Lupus to help fundraise. Part of the proceeds from all tandems done on August 18 & 19th were donated. As well, we raised money in their raffle for containers. 100% of

the money goes directly towards research for a cure to Lupus.
Prize winners are posted on the Leap For Lupus web site no later than August 30th. If you missed out, you can also make a straight
donation using this form.
Valinda Mitchell, co-founder of the Leap for Lupus Foundation, was diagnosed with lupus in 1989 and was hospitalized as a result of the disease in 2003. As Valinda fought her battle with lupus, it became very clear that the standard treatments and medications used for lupus patients were inadequate. Currently, all the drugs and therapies used to treat lupus are borrowed from regimens used to treat other diseases. This includes different forms of chemotherapy, which often do more harm than good. Some doctors have compared these treatments to using a jackhammer to drive a thumb tack. It's been more than 40 years since any new drugs useful to lupus treatment have been discovered.
